This is a program that can be used to synchronize synthesizers, sequencers, arpeggiators etc.
MIDI clock can help on stage gigs or recording studios by synchronizing synthesizers, sequencers, arpeggiators etc. This is done through MIDI output device by generating MIDI beat clock signal through them at a selectable BPM rate. You could get other kind of output signals through custom made output devices too. MIDIClock is controlled by MIDI input commands. Up to 32 input actions can be specified. The beat clock set out to MIDI controlled devices is the information about the current tempo at 24 ppqn rate. This signal helps keep synthesizers, ones that have BPM dependent voices, and arpeggiators stay in sync. You are going to need time code information in addition to maintain complete synchronization. MIDI beat clock defines a clock, a start and a stop as well as a continue message. A tick message used to be in vogue earlier but is not currently used and is not supported on the tool.
The tool is straightforward to use. You need to set the BPM rate, define the instruments you need to drive through the two ports of the driver and a general settings file. Simplest to start with would be the default file and then play with the settings of a list of parameters in the .INI file. If you are a music group and undertake stage gigs and recording sessions often, this is a useful and simple tool that you could try. The program does not need any installation, simply unzip it to get an executable file. The file could also be taken with you on a portable drive and run anywhere else.
